Unveiling of the portrait bust of Swami Rama of the Himalayas: Deolal Mahabir and his family with Consul B. John Zavrel.
Dear Ladies and Gentleman,
The final ceremony of the Grand Opening is the unveiling of the portrait-bust of Swami Rama of the Himalayas.
This bust is the center of the "Spiritual Corner" in this park.
To honor the late spiritual leader in this Alexander Garden makes good sense.
We remember: Alexander the Great came on his restless journey from Europe to Asia, all the way up to India. The king, ruler and emperor had been interested--more than 2,000 years ago--in other spiritual experiences.
And this spirituality has its fascination also in our days. Therefore, we added the bust of this late Himalayan sage to this Alexander Garden. And I am very pleased that some of his disciples have come to the unveiling from distant places: Mrs. Sharada Bhajan from Toronto, and Mr. Deolal Mahabir, his wife Pratibha and their children have driven all the way from Florida to join us for this event.
At the end, let me quote our gurudev, HH Swami Rama of the Himalayas himself. He said:
"The Lord of Life in the Universe is within me. I am not the body, but a shrine of that Lord, the Lord of Love and Life. Through my thoughts, speech and actions, I will emanate love".
May this Spiritual Corner become a place of meditation.
