FRANTISEK (Franz) ZAVREL


Frantisek ( Franz) Zavrel (November 1, 1884--December 4, 1947) was an Austrian-born Czech author, novelist, dramatist, poet, lawyer, and an officer at the Ministry of International Trade in Prague. He is most famous for historical dramas, poetry and the controversial novel Fortinbras, which eventually cost him his life.
