Alexander Medal at the Awards of the Alexander Order in Europe

Decoration in sterling silver and gold-plated surface

 

 

An eagle decorates the medal of the Alexander Order. This noble animal was already modeled by the sculptor Kurt Arentz, as a bronze sculpture titled "Liberty". One of the first exemplaires was presented to the Knight of the Order President Ronald Reagan.

Berlin/New York (bpb) The Alexander Order Pour le Mérite for Science and Art has published a Friendship Medal on the occasion of the admission of new Knights into the Order in Europe. The medal has a diameter of 40 mm. On one side is shown a Bald Eagle. It is a symbol of sovereignity, and among others also the official emblem of the USA. In addition, the imprint shows the Alexander Coat of Arms of Knight Sigurd Kuepper, who donated the memorial coin.

The coin was issued on the occasion of the admission of several personalities from Europe and the United States as Knights of the Alexander Order. The ceremony took place on May 20, 2006 at the Nörvenich Castle near Cologne, Germany. The Chancellor of the Order, Consul B. John Zavrel (USA) conducted the ceremony.

The reverse side of the coin depicts the image of the young Alexander. The coin has been issued in sterling silver, as well as gold-plated. This limited Medal Coin Edition is also available to collectors. For information, please contact info@europäische-kultur-stiftung.org
