Dear Friends,
These are some highlights of 2003:
EXHIBITIONS. We had four major exhibitions: DALI & WINE, AT THE HERMITAGE, MATURE & WILDLIFE, and MIRACLE OF CREATION. We have introduced 36 artists from Western New York, Canada and Europe.
ART ON LOAN. This new program makes it possible for art lovers to take home on loan a sculpture, painting or lithograph from our collection. Works by Dali, Arentz, Fuchs, Cocteau, Picasso, Chagall and others.
WEB SITE. We continue to publish articles with hard-to-find information about interesting artists of our time. In 2003, our web site actiovity has nearly doubled from the previous year: we had 1,000,000 (one million!!) hits from 210,000 visitors from 84 countries.
GREATBATCH COLLECTION. We have received donations of fine paintings and sculptures from American and European artists, such as Sara McMurray-Day (Ireland), Renate Stendar (Switzerland), Amos de Barros (USA), Genia Chef (Germany/Russia), Binyamin Shalumov (USA/Russia), Anna Druzsz (USA/Poland), Birgit Sewekow (Germany), and others.
2004 EXHIBITIONS. These are themes & opening dates: WOMEN, MUSIC & DANCE (January 22), ETERNAL LOVE (April 22), MYTHOLOGY & LEGENDS (July 29), and SALVADOR DALI @ 100 (October 21).
Come to our next exhibition opening, meet our interesting artists and others interested in art. Tell your friends about us and bring them along. At the same time, we invite you to join us as Friends of the Museum. Our non-profit art museum depends ENTIRELY on the support of private supporters, and we do need help to be able to continue.
Sincerely,
B. John Zavrel, Director
