MONDAY EVENING YOGA CLASS

September 10 to October 29, 6:30 to 8:30 pm.

 

Reduce Stress Wednesdays

Relax and renew this Holiday Season. This 3 week course will provide a systematic approach to the techniques that are helpful in reducing stress and revitalizing your being.

Wednesday, December 5 to 19, 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Cost, $ 45.

 

Meditation I with Pandit Dabral

Those wishing to renew and expand their practice of meditation are invited to attend this special 4 week course taught by Pandit Dabral. Pandit Dabral, who has been trained by Swami Veda Bharati to guide meditation, will provide a unique and in-depth exploration of the concepts and application of meditation in daily life.

Superconscious Meditation Course

This course explains the central principles of meditational philosophy, and a timeless vedic psychology based on Swami Veda's comprehensive Superconscious Meditation course. The 10 hours of class will combine practice with lecture and discussion. For those interested, the course can lead to receiving a personal mantra, and for teacher accreditation. A beginning level course at the Center is recommended but not required as a prerequisite. 5 hours of class plus 16 hours of rental tapes for further home-studey. Instructor, Pandit Ananta.

"Who am I?" Ramana Maharshi Videos

Come and explore the archives of Ramana Maharshi's ancient wisdom for the modern day. Michael Smith, a long time student of yoga and meditation, will provide a lively discussion on the unique philosophy of this great saint.

Complete Wash

Health is the capacity to respond appropriately to change. This experiential workshop focuses on how to use various cleansing practices that enable the body and mind to respond better to natural life cycles. The full body technique will be presented in a systematic way. Session includes fresh juices for partial fast. Please register early so you may be given guidelines for preparation the day before the wash.

Science of Breath

Application of Pranayama for Meditation and Well-Being

The science of pranayama is necessary to advance in meditation as well as to maintain inner vitality. In this class you will explore the unique relationship of prana, emotions and the nervous system. You will then learn to use pranayama as a tool to deepen your meditation. Practices include diaphragmatic breathing, nadi shodhanam, kapala bhati, bhastrika, ujjai, banhdas, and various concentration techniques on the flow of prana in the nadis.

3 Weeks for $ 45.

Cooking Class

Vegetarian Ethnic Dishes for American Kitchens

A variety of vegetarian (lacto-vegetarian) dishes will be prepared and eaten each night. Indian, Italian, Mexican. The class will be taught by Ann Fromm who has been cooking for Swami Veda and the Meditation Center staff for many years.

Wednesday Evenings, October 3 to 17. Cost, $ 30 for each individual class, or $ 75 for all 3 classes (includes food).

The Center offers systematic instruction in the Himalayan Tradition of Raja Yoga (Royal Path). Levels in deep relaxation, breathing techniques, postures and meditation are taught according to Patanjali's YOGA SUTRAS. Interested students also have an opportunity to receive a personal mantra. Your first class can be either Meditation 1 or Beginning Yoga 1.

The Center Staff is comprised of Senior Teachers, Certified and Certified-Eligible teachers whose experience in Yoga and Meditation spans over the past 27 years. They come from all professions and are willing and able to serve you.

Yoga Exercises and Deep Relaxation

Hatha yoga for the body; systematic relaxation and focusing of the mind. This popular class offers you the opportunity to combine yoga physical exercise with guided introspective instruction. Advancing Yoga Asanas

Yoga Exercises in meditative tradition.

The essential steps of Hatha Yoga asanas are further developed in combination with variations and refinements in postures and breathing techniques that facilitate total mental and physical rejuvenation. 4 weeks for $ 60. Teacher, Michael Monsor.

Teacher Training Program

Become an instructor of Hatha Yoga while refining your own personal practices of asana, pranayama and meditation. Teacher certification granted by the Himalayan Institute is offered through the diploma program and sponsored by the Meditation Center. Please call the Center Director at 379-2386 for an appointment.

 


CLASS POLICY

To avoid disappointment, pre-registration for all programs is recommended. Please enclose a $ 10 non-refundable deposit (credited toward class fees) with your registration form.

No refunds after the second week of classes.
