Join us on Four Monday evenings in January to watch 4 videolectures given by Swami Rama on the science of yoga. "Yoga Sutras ofPatanjali" is the fundamental text on yoga and meditation. Itconsists of 195 aphorisms (mostly one or two sentence statements)which explain the whole system of practice of yoga. Only one who haspracticed yoga under an authentic teacher and has became anaccomplished master himself can understand and them teach this text.Swami Rama of the Himalayas teaches it from a practical viewpoint, ina way that it is clearly understood by the student and the studentcan use it in his or her life. The lectures are approximately 80minutes long.
BEFORE the lectures we shall start with a few practicesand meditation. Bring an exercise mat, blanket and a meditationpillow. Invite your friends to join us.

Friends,
If you have practiced yoga meditation for some time, or areinterested in the literature of India, it is very helpful for one tobe able to read the Sanskrit script.
It is not easy to learn it by oneself from books, and therefore Ihave prepared an audio tape with several charts to facilitate theprocess. Actually, it is not as hard as it seems. If you spend 45minutes a day learning it, in 2 &endash; 3 weeks you will havemastered the basic 49 signs and sounds of the Sanskrit alphabet.
At the Rishikesh Foundation, we have weekly Sanskrit classes forbeginners.
If you are unable to attend our classes, but would at least liketo learn the Sanskrit script, you can now order the tape 'SANSKRITALPHABET' by sending a $ 15 donation to:

You will find this to be a very rewarding experience, which may bealso helpful in your future meditation practice.
Yours,
In service of the guru lineage
