GOALS OF THE MUSEUM

INVITATION TO ARTISTS TO EXHIBIT THEIR WORKS

 ART ON LOAN

from the

Museum of European Art

 

Works of art by well-known European artists like Salvador Dali, Jean Cocteau, Marc Chagall, Kurt Arentz, Helga Tiemann, Jean Carzou, Renate Stendar and others are now available for rent at the Museum. The value of most of the works is between $ 300 - 1,800.

The fee is only $ 25 for 3 months, plus a deposit.

 

One of the works available for rent at the Museum of European Art: a color woodcut from Salvador Dali's series DIVINA COMEDIA.

2003 IN REVIEW

 

Consul B. John Zavrel and the painter Mary McAndrew at the opening of the exhibition "The Miracle of Creation" at the Museum of European Art in Clarence, New York. The exhibition, which includes 20 paintings by the Polish painter Edward Bialek, continues till December 31, 2003.

 


July 17, 2003 ....NATURE AND WILDLIFE IN ART

Sculptures and paintings of landscapes, animals and birds.

(July 17 - September 30, 2003)

 

 

A pair of bulls in bronze by the prominent German sculptor KURT ARENTZ are among the works of art presented in the exhibition, which opened on JULY 17, 2003.

 

Paintings and sculptures on the theme 'Nature and Wildlife' by artists from Utah, California, Germany and Western New York: ViviAnn Rose (Utah), Pat Roberts (California), Kurt Arentz and Jan Künster (Germany). From Buffalo area: James McAndrew, Leonard Rusin, Cynthia Kelley, Paula Borkowski, Mary McAndrew Stephen, Curtis Wright, Brenda Piccione, Kathleen Kelly and Dr. Elizabeth Doherty. Artists will be introduced at 6:30 pm.

Paintings and sculptures by Canadian and American artists were featured. Among them are Edward Tabachnik,Lorne Wagman, Slavka Kolesar, Lorne Corley, James Culligan, and Craig Chivers from Canada. From Buffalo, Cornelia Dohse-Peck, Bradley Widman, Mary McAndrew, Stella Shalumova, Ames de Barros and Judie Champlin.


Winner of the April 2003 'Artwork Competition' was the painting 'ENIGMA' by Binyamin Shalumov from Williamsville, New York.

 

The original oil painting 'Enigma' by the Russian-born painter Binyamin Shalumov from Williamsville, NY was the winner of voting by visitors to the Museum of European Art. On April 26, 2003 the artist was already in Moscow, at the opening of an extensive one-man exhibition of some 60 of his recent landscapes.

The Bulgarian painter Violeta Trajanova will show 30 of her icons on wood, inspired by original icons found in the churches in Bulgaria. Recurring themes and Madonna with Child, the Holy Trinity, Mary, Jesus, and representations of various saints of the Church. A rare opportunity to see the artist's first exhibition in America. Opening reception on Thursday December 19, 2002 from 5 - 8 pm. Exhibition continues to February 20, 2003.
