Berlin (bpb) „Salvador Dali 100 Years" is the title of an exhibition of the European Art Foundation, Berlin. It will open in May 2004 in the Museum of European Art at the Nörvenich Castle near Köln. A continuation of the exhibition is planned to take place at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Berlin. Salvador Dali has portrayed Adenauer, as the first Chancellor of West Germany, on a medal and in an original etching.

To the exhibited works of art of the Hommage a Dali in the Museum also belongs the largest, authentic portrait-bust in the world of Salvador Dali, for which the surrealist stood model for his artist-friend Arno Breker. The Spanish Crown Prince Felipe has unveiled this portrait some years ago, in the presence of the German Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher.

The exhibition opening will take place in 2004 in the presence of invited guests. For more information, contact: info@europaeische-kultur-stiftung.org

The exhibition in Dali's honor is conceived to be available as a 'travelling exhibition' to be shown at other art museums, art institutions, art organizations and banks. According to Dali's designs, numerous medals in silver and gold have been minted. These are interesting art objects especially for banks. A part of the exhibition should be also shown abroad, among others at the US Museum of European Art in New York. (www.meaus.com)
