The work of art was created especially for the Collection by the successful German painter BIRGIT SEWEKOW from Leverkusen, out of admiration for the life work of the world-known Clarence inventor.
With this gesture, Birgit Sewekow joins other American and European artists in donating their works of art -- sculptures and paintings -- the the Museum of European Art's collection honoring not only Wilson Greatbatch, but all inventors in general.

The Buffalo painter Binyamin Shalumov (right) at the opening of his recent exhibition in Moscow. With him is Edward Kolakowski, the Cultural Attache at the US Embassy in Moscow. The exhibition opened on April 25, 2003 and ended on June 1, 2003 -- the artist's 69th birthday.

EDGAR DEGAS, an acclaimed French master with an innovative style and distinctive composition, befriended MARY CASSATT, the only American accepted by the Impressionist Group. She was a member of the Paris avant-garde and a 19th century feminist.
Cassatt's art brought a new woman's perspective to familiar places: the theater, drawing room, garden, and studio. Cassatt represented children and women without sentimentality but with deep awareness of their complex psychology. Learn how this dynamic artistic due exuded remarkable synergy in their art.
James McAndrew from Endicott, New York was one of the artists attending the opening of the exhibition 'NATURE AND WILDLIFE' at the Museum of European Art in Clarence.
His entry, a woodcarving of a Snow Owl, on which he worked on and off for three years, was among the several special works of art which captured the interest of the visitors. The owl has been entered into the upcoming competition at the State Fair in Syracuse.
