The re-discovered bronze bust „Richard Wagner" by Arno Breker. Adolf Hitler had set it up at his residence Berghof in Obersalzberg in Bavaria, and according to the words of Albert Speer, viewed it "as a sacred object". The adventurous, decades-long journey of the bust came to its destination at the home of a private collector in Australia. Fritz Pleitgen has started his highest honorary office in March, 2011: he was appointed as the President of the German Cancer Aid. He was elected to the office for a period of five years. His predecessor was the Nobel Award winner for Medicine, Harald zur Hausen. Pleitgen assured the public that he will continue to work with this largest publicly supported institution in Europe against cancer. It was founded by the former German First Lady, Dr. Mildred Scheel, whom he had known in those days as a young journalist.
