His ancestors came to Moravia from Bohemia; they were descendants of members of the Unitas Fratum - Bohemian Brethren (in USA known as Moravian Brethren), associated with the Count Nicholas Ludwig von Zinzendorf (1700 - 1760), being among the founding settlers of the village of Zinsendorf, near Brünn (Brno) in Moravia.
