born in Kurim, Czechoslovakia, Aug. 2, 1949; arrived to the United States 1969, U.S. citizenship 1975.

son of Bohuslav Zavrel and Radoslava Holubik

married Sandra McCracken, May 20, 1972; children - Wesley Zavrel, Christopher Zavrel, Thomas Zavrel.

His ancestors came to Moravia from Bohemia; they were descendants of members of the Unitas Fratum - Bohemian Brethren (in USA known as Moravian Brethren), associated with the Count Nicholas Ludwig von Zinzendorf (1700 - 1760), being among the founding settlers of the village of Zinsendorf, near Brünn (Brno) in Moravia.
