Horst Niesters, the world-famous photographer of wildlife, died on October 16, 2009 at the age of 72 in Germany. In this archive photo, we can see the falcon, which his sculptor-friend Kurt Arentz portrayed in the Wildlife Refuge Hellenthal, founded by Niesters some 40 years ago. Prof. Dr. Hermann Schäfer, a historian. He was the founding president of the Museum of Contemporary History of the German Federal Republic in the former capital Bonn. This museum project was initiated by the German Chancellor Helmut Kohl. Prof. Schaefer guided the museum for almost 20 years, and it has become one of the most visited institutions of this kind. Finally, Prof. Schaefer was Deputy Minister of Culture in Berlin under the present Chancellor, Angela Merkel. The photo shows Prof. Schaefer with the former US President George Bush during one of his visits to Berlin.

He holds the hands protectively over the human couple. The left figure rests at the feet of the heavenly messanger.The male figure on the right holds the right hand over his heart.
