The life work of the physician Dr. Mildred Scheel, the charitable organization German Cancer Aid, has become also their own cause: the chairman of the German Cancer Aid, Hans-Peter Krämer (center) with the business manager Gerd Nettekoven (left) and its President Dr. h.c. Fritz Pleitgen at a press conference. All three have personally known the founder of German Cancer Aid, and have pursued their pioneering engagement ever since that time. This photograph seems to tell us an imaginary dialog between the US President Barack Obama and the German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The face of President Obama gives the impression that he is asking the Lady: Can I trust you? And the face of the German Leader wants to know: Can I trust you now and ever ?
In spite of all the criticism and disappointment in Germany due to the US spying operations, the majoritiy of Germans still want the trans-Atlantic Alliance as well as friendship and trust between the two countries to continue. For our article, see The US spying scandal: Europe is helpless ...

The German Catholic Bishop Tebartz-van Elst in Limburg (on the river Lahn) wanted to build to honor God and for the church, as well as for the use of the faithful. For this he earned disfavor in the church and was disowned by Pope Francis in Rome. And punishment by the Holy Father" promptly followed. Our photo shows the Bishop in good mood in front of the Limburg Cathedral, before the campaign of hate against him started. This historic house of God is considered today to be one of the most perfect creations of architecture in the late Roman style. The cathedral is also pictured on the 1,000 Euro notes in Germany.

GENERAL INFORMATION about the Museum of European Art
A museum remembers the big battle with heavy losses in the winter of 1944/1945 in the Hürtgen Forest near Düren (near Cologne) in Germany. At that time, 120.000 US soldiers of the invasion troops faced some 60,000 soldiers of the German Army, of the Homeland Forces (old men) and the Hitler-Youth (school pupils, students and youths). In this ice-cold winter, the snow covering this hopeless landscape turned red from the blood of the German and American soldiers. According to historical sources, Americans lost over 33,000 men in this winter battle. The losses of the Germans were estimated at equal numbers.
