Merciless was the fate of Germans in today's Polland and Czech Republic during the expulsion. This historical original photograph from the year 1945 illustrates the forced exodus of Germans from their native homeland areas. Those of them, who had good luck in unfortune in the first wave of expulsion and were not killed outright, were often able to take along with them a small package of personal belongings, which they had to carry on the forced march under military guard. These horriblde marches in bad weather conditinons have entered the collective memory of these generations of victioms as "Death marches". Mostly old people and children died from exhaustion and illness during the expulsion. For our article, see Nationaler Gedenktag für Vertriebene wird von CDU/CSU und SPD unterstützt ...

"Wrapped Portrait" at the Alexander Garden in USA. The scene seems mysterious and mystical. DThe temporary packaging is seen as an Homage to Christo", who became known world-wide by his hiding, packagin and beautifying of large objects. Born on June 13, 1935 in Gabrowo (Bulgaria) as Christo Vladimirov Javacheff, he had found after many years of wandering his new homeland in America. But some of his greatest successes took place in Europe. For our article, see Alexander-Garden in USA als eine Hommage a Christo" ...

ESSAYS ON ART, CULTURE & SOCIETY ...
Pictures done in various techniques from the art cache of 2012 in Munich, Germany. It was confiscated from an 81-year old srt dealer. According to experts, such pictures were not sold because they are "beautiful". They were bought by speculators in the hopes that this art, formerly condemned by the NS leadership as "Degenerate art" , would be a good investment. Thus, the former average art dealers have eventually become art stars, thanks to the unsuccessful campaign of the national socialists. The benefactors were largely their heirs.
